Vitamin C Cold and Flu Drink
By Denice Moffat Platinum Quality Author

I’ve used this recipe for many years on myself with great success, but a few times I have made it for my friends, family members and employees. They hover over me and first ask, “What’s in that stuff?” After they are better, they end up calling me for the exact recipe.

Since Vitamin C works so well at any time of the year and especially for the cold and flu season, and this recipe has three ingredients which are loaded with Vitamin C, I am sharing it with you. What I like about it is that it is highly diaphoretic (it makes you sweat.) Sweating raises your body temperature, which will then fry out most of those cold and flu causing bugs. Using a sauna the first day of symptoms is also helpful, but saunas don’t taste as good, they cost more money and you usually have to drive to get there.

Vitamin C Cold and Flu Drink

•8 oz. Black Tea

•2 Tablespoons Orange Tang

•2 Teaspoons Honey

•1 Tablespoon Tree of Life or Hain’s Cranberry Concentrate, Unsweetened Juice

•Juice of 1 whole fresh Lemon

•1 ounce Brandy (optional)

Directions: Take boiling hot water and pour eight ounces over a Black Tea Bag (although I have used Constant Comment or Seattle’s Market Spice Tea as well) in a large mug or small pan. Let the tea steep for a minute or two, and then add the Orange Tang, Honey, and Concentrated Cranberry Juice. Bring this mixture back up to a very hot, but not boiling temperature if necessary then squeeze the Lemon and add the juice to the mug, then add the Brandy (optional) and sip until gone.

Note: The Concentrated Unsweetened Cranberry Juice is usually found in the nutritional supplement section because it is used often for urinary tract infections and the juices on the juice shelf and in the freezer section are loaded with water and already diluted. This stuff is STRONG!

Repeat one additional day if necessary.
